Small Business Networking Options
Small business networking is not a quick way to get more business. But it is highly effective. It’s a long-term strategy that involves meeting new people, getting to know them, liking them and trusting them. You then become an advocate for their business, and vice versa, and that is when the new business comes your way. If you go at it with a view to giving it the hard sell, don’t be surprised when the like, know, trust thing doesn’t follow. And neither will the business. The best way is to use a variety of networking opportunities, and this can include: - Joining business network groups – my personal favourite is
4networking
(see why on
Jen Recommends
), but there are loads all across the UK.
- Attending local networking events
- Joining your local
Chamber of Commerce
- Holding seminars
-
Social media
– Blogs, Forums, LinkedIn Twitter, Facebook….
Anything you can do to get to talk to more people about their and your business will naturally create more opportunities for you and your business. See our
resources section
for more information.
